Wounds

Yesterday the first real wounds of the modern spirit of the age, were made on me and my family.

I won’t name its weapon of choice, as one could. A smoky fog of progressive politics, liberal theology and perversions stacked upon confusions did the trick and made the wound, I could make this blog post about anything these days. But I was not the only one wounded. Family was wounded. Friends were wounded. So I won’t name it. For theirs and privacy’s sake.

And for is almost 10 years that same smoky darkness has been vile but not personal. Vile in ways every blogger worth their salt could see and type about, But I did not because I felt it wasn’t personal. Vile in ways I would feel joy in denouncing and peace in seeing made to disperse when the light is shone through it. But I didn’t. I thought I had bigger fish to fry.

I take jabs at the rainbow and sneer at it’s oedipal mother, feminism. And hope that my readership knows enough of the layman to know what his terms would be in the face of godless governments, and the “rights” they foster in their sin. But yesterday the evils I flirt with and in turn deny my attention, in lieu of writing about Christianity and tech, drew first blood. And as such a lesser me would find a cheek to turn were this a person doing the wounding, But it’s not. It's a power and a principality

So.

On the top of the blog header, and across the relevant places where these blogs are cross posted, will be the final words of a line I have ignored, to may shame.

“A Modern Christian's Thoughts On Life, Writing, Tech, And Politics.”

The bookends of this, Life and Politics, have not not been the source of much of my writing. And perhaps if they were, the wounds would not be so deep right now. But they are. So by the means of which I am called, shall I respond.

For nearly ten years and one hundred posts this blog has been about Christianity and Technology, to the detriment of the lives and politics affected by life and politics.

In January. On the 10th anniversary of The Layman's Terms. I’ll stop pulling theological punches on all four fronts. I fully plan on finishing the work I started in the commentaries and books on Tech and the Church. But you’ll also see pieces that don’t fit that bill and don’t try to avoid the conflicts our world has with our Lord and his Gospel. Posts about the sins of our cities, the sins of their provinces. And the true north strong and sinful all the same.

But until then there is nothing else but morning. Wound's must be tended to, grief shared, and words made to be as sharp as the sword that inspires them.

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah 5:20
