Some of you might be wondering why I'm reviewing what is clearly a text book. Well, you don't get better by doing what you're good at.
The Empowered Writer does a fine job as an introductory textbook on the craft of writing essays and prose. With chapter by chapter summaries of the specific topics covered and breakdowns including examples of what's being taught in each section.
A book like this might not be as prestigious or classy as other writing aids like "The Elements of style" or "On writing". But it was still a great opportunity to work and read through the hard skills of a craft I one day hope to master.
Plus this book is everywhere. If your town has a university or college and a value village. Chances are you'll find it used for cheap.
