Mark Has Some Good News, Part 54, Who's Your Eternally Existing Daddy?

Mark 12:

Whose Son Is the Christ?

35 And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, "How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?

36 David himself, in the Holy Spirit, declared,
"'The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at my right hand,
until I put your enemies under your feet.'

37 David himself calls him Lord. So how is he his son?" And the great throng heard him gladly.

This can be one of those confusing parts of scripture. It gets its own heading and red letters and really makes no sense if you just read it quickly in your devotionals. Yet it's in scripture for a reason and it's a reason that is becoming more and more debated and questioned these days. That's the question of whether or not Jesus said he was God or not. And while you might not this is one of the scriptures that shows that he did

If David said in the psalms where this verse is cross referencing from "The Lord (that's the Father) said to my Lord (Jesus)" what he's talking about being God yet being born later as the messiah in David's genealogy.

The point Jesus is making is he's saying he's God. People will try to tell you that he never said it. But you can't say stuff like this and not show your hand.

Jesus is Lord
